There was that too. People didn't like others who were appointed, and caused hell.

Mainly because the people who were appointed were actually moderating the forums, instead of flaming people constantly. That was just one of the things that happened.

That actually explains everything to me. I joined PSB expecting it to be like FFE, but more full and active (plus it had a chatbox, which made things convenient for me and my huge group). But yeah since they were from FFE I expected them to be as nice as everyone here. Boy was I wrong. I still haven't forgotten the sick stuff they screamed at us over there.

I'll stay at FFE thank you very much.

From what I remember, FFE got new management, smattle, a few years back; effectively booting all the old staffers (I.E. the *******s) out of power, while appointing Words of Ivory as the head mod.
The site was dying, and Words was tasked to find a stable group of Moderators from the pile of **** users currently on the forums.
He chose Me, ViVi, and Jenova, i believe, and after a while, Words just left. As did all the other old members. Soon the forums was all but completely dead. Our mod powers suddenly vanished and thus their was no governing force on the forums, leaving trolls and adbots to do whatever at will.
I still had the title as "moderator" so, thanks to Lamont, we were able to keep the forums alive long enough through news updates, and shear bluffing. Eventually not even empty threats could control all the users, so Eventually I found the new Admin, Ralph was was kind of in the shadows at the time, and he gave me my mod powers back, and then some. With the help of Lamont, I was able to track down all those pesky spammers, and eventually after the forums had been virtually cleaned up, new users like VT and Terra and Chaotic began to show up. Eventually I recomended Ralph to turn Lamont into a super mod as well, and she has served her position admirably ever since.

I was choosing to avoid name-dropping smartarse, additionally I have been on and off FFE and it's former affiliates for years. A lot of stuff has happened.

And the site changed hands a few times before it got to Ralph, whenever it did change hands - it all hit the fan, and it would hit the fan fairly easily on simple things... like articles for the main site, layout changes... etc

People didn't like the idea that Ralph took over for admin, and on the overall a lot of people caused too many problems across the time period of the site, the same thing happened when WoI was on.

It's a lot, a LOT better now however there is still work that we must do to continue improving it... now that we haven't got a large group that act and throw online tantrums like a bunch of angry children.

I see...I guess I'm in no position to compare things as I haven't been around long enough..but I agree with Chaotic you guys have done well here...the site is great, and obviously the Forum and the people active in here are just awesome, why else would I have more than 600 posts that contain 4 meaningful sentences.
