Disappointing...

Well, I made this thread to announce that I'm leaving. I haven't been here long, so I won't be missed. It's disappointing because I really wanted to be active on this forum. It seemed pretty good, etc. But I realised that everyone here needs to calm down a little. A harmless chat about stuff shouldn't be deleted/modded. I really tried to help, but it didn't really work, and that was frustrating I guess...

Anyways, I think that this forum will get better, as Garland is pretty cool, and I guess I really just wasn't the type of person to be on these forums.

A certain Super moderator. I realise that it broke the street date, but was it really necessary to delete the whole thread? I only said that if people wanted to, they could ask questions of me. I was probably in the wrong... but it was just an offer... it's better to just have a little leniency. (IMO)

Wait who knocked your thread down? I sure as hell didn't! all though if you are refferring to that news post, I agree with whomeever did knock it down. Lamont worked fairly hard on that exact same news post, and she posted it up like a Month before you did. Suffice to say, you posted really old news.

Fullwall! My man! You got tons of stuff I like about ya! You're from Australlia, you got a pic refferencing Golden Sun for your Avatar, and your posts are generally awesome. You were one of the few users here which I thought could be capable successors as the fifth Generation of FFE. Don't let all that go to waste just because of some simple modding. That's what VT did, and it was certainly a waste.

Mods are here for a reason, to clean things up. (Technically even this thread should be moved to the new begginings section as it is also a goodbye forum)

The news post was knocked down by myself, with explanation as to why it was. I additionally made a note to Fullwall to drop me a private message and I would explain it further.

As for the Dissidia thread, I issued a warning on that for a multiple of factors:

1. Pre-release on a strictly street-dated product can actually get staff with gaming stores into trouble, so it's best to not publicly announce such things.
2. Nobody likes it whenever someone rubs a game in another person's face.
3. Following on from two, Chaotic was already wound up on that matter due to Dissidia in particular and I had a feeling that the thread would have ended up in flaming.

Therefore, I issued a warning on the Dissidia thread however I did not remove it. Regardless of the matter, it's basically read before you post and when it comes to pre-releases you need to be considerate of those three factors.

You may not flame, but Lamont had a feeling Chaotic might. Since at the time, everyone was very cranky with the subject, and Chaotic was even threatening about leaving at one point.

I believe I was the one who removed that thread as it was starting to get out of hand. But you weren't the only one, I removed several posts from Reverse Gaia as well detailing spoilers on the game before release. Just take a deep breath.

Ok, now I think that before this thread gets out of hand as well, I'll clear a few things up. Chaotic, I wasn't talking about you flaming, just that I wouldn't. This thread arose out of a misunderstanding - why someone deleted my thread. I guess I've made quite a few mistakes. I might come back after a week, after some cooling down.

My statement about "Posts will be deleted", was due to the following:

Chaotic was rather agitated with the main factor behind the thread creation, which can basically be considered bragging due to the fact that the game was obtained pre-strict street dating (generally, strict street dating is for a game's classification and/or overall paperwork comes into action - in order to avoid any cases which can occur when a product is released before this paperwork is considered to be in-contract) and the fact that it's common knowledge that spoilers' are either hidden OR removed from FFE due to general user agitation across the site itself.

Hold up Garland and Lamont, let's get a couple thing straight one I want to know when I said I was going to leave because of a spoiler because I don't remember saying I wanted to leave over that 2. reopen his thread because I was about to flame him for having the game early so basically you both are saying that you closed his thread because of something I might have done I was angry at the dudes at the mall and the dude who leaked the VA list not Fullwall if had the game early that's cool if he spoiled it I would have said yo thats not cool or something else....seems to me you two think i can't held things is that right?

Firstly, it can be considered bragging. For example of such a situation - I was given a copy of Drakengard 2 months before it's actual release, however I didn't say I had it because that would be considered bragging due to the fact that most people would consider that when someone says that they've gotten something earlier than another, that they're generally rubbing it in on people even if that was not the intention it will generally come off like that to the majority.

Secondly, sure you certainly didn't post any spoilers however we've had to remove too many spoilers on Dissidia from many members who know the reason as to why they're removed after fair warning.

Since this appears to be such a huge issue for you, I've taken the liberty to taking screenshots of the thread at it's point of deletion.

There you go, now if you take into consideration of your comment of "Off to play some more :P " can actually be considered as purposely bragging and/or taunting users or even Guests/Visitors to FFE on that matter itself of suddenly announcing it when Dissidia is on a Strict-Street Dating for the aforementioned reasons I've given and I know that personally about the strict Street Date for a REASON.

And because of a slight combination of reasons, Garland took it upon his best judgment and deleted the thread and I wouldn't say that it was "Abuse of power" either on this matter, as I gave fair warning about it for a few reasons, and said that if it continued OR if you posted any spoilers - those posts would be removed until ALL Dissidia Street Dates roll-over.

All this is true, yet the key word is "can". I think that everybody would generally interpret that sentence, taken with the other posts, as being happy and feeling lucky to be able to play it. I did notice that I was told to "not worry" by smattle... and that it was not seen as a big deal, and I did in fact apologise. I was also told to be quiet in an offensive way - to 'shut it'. I can see that you feel quite strongly about this, but frankly I'm getting tired of this argument...

If you did not want to argue, then quite honestly and bluntly - then you should have honestly thought about creating the thread before you actually did it. Sure, you were posting about being so happy and ever so lucky to be able to play it however not everyone felt that way for you.

I've already played the initial Japanese release, however I haven't posted a single thing on it aside from public press releases on the matter as I knew that people would not enjoy hearing someone go "Oh hi guys, I've been playing [Game title here], I've beaten this [mode/scenario title here] [x amount of times]. Oh, it's also before it's released too. Isn't that awesome?" and that regardless of the intention isn't really taken too kindly online unless you're going to say... post a non-spoiler review of the game as some people did not want to know ANY of the character line-up until they actually had the game in their hands.
