Stuff i have noticed

Hmmm....i am VERY disapointed in games nowadays!

I mean, most games nowadays no longer have ACTUAL FMV's, wich pisses me off beyond comprehension. and there is also the fact that games nowadays arent even worth playing anymore! i mean, how sad is that?

All right, i WILL admit, that there are a few games out there on the current gen consoles that are worth playing, but, they gave NO replayability! and what the hell is the point of getting it if it can be finished in less then a day and it has no replayability!? none!

I mean, look at the FF series: it doesnt matter if it actualy HAS a "New Game +" it can STILL be played over and over! why? cos you probly missed something, or you didnt understand the story that well, or the story it's self is just THAT good!

Games nowadays dont have ANY of that! i partialy blame the Achievement/Trophie system they have, but it's deeper then that, they focus too much on depth and graphics nowadays than the story or gameplay or characters... hell, they dont even try to balance it out anymore.... i reckon that the age of gaming ended with the PS2 and those gneration's of consoles. at least you could enjoy the story and the game it's self back then... and you could do it on your own! nowadyas, the only way to get ANY enjoyment out of games is to play with other people over the net.... but not every one HAS the net or access to it..... and not every one has friends either!

It's pissin me off that i cant spend $100 on a game and enjoy it on my own offline any more! games arent MEANT to be a social experience! there meant to be enjoyed by the people on there own and get in touch with there emotions and so on!

That's true man. I'm still playing last gen consoles right now. And don't you just hate how everyone is like if it has good graphics then it's a good game.

I agree with you as well, GRAV. Some of the games coming out right now are just plain bad or focus too much on graphics. What happened to the good old days when games weren't about the graphics, just gameplay? I've played the early FFs a few times over, but nowadays, most games just don't grab me. It seems to me (where I live) that the only game played is CoD, and I can't play that.

Recently, I've just been either replaying my old games, or my DS, which has lots of good games, (probably because it has less graphics capabilities) like Zelda, Kirby Super Star, etc. I need a really good, addictive game right now, as Dissidia is basically about to be relegated to my 'played-and-won't-play-again-games' pile.

I agree with the masses on this one. It seems that if its not GH, CoD, RB, Halo *shivers*, or a game with teh PStree graphicz, its not even worth picking up. I may have grown up with the newer generation of gaming, but damn it if I wouldn't give my eye teeth for a working NES. TBQH, Halo isn't all that bad of a game, BUT, it's fanboy base makes me wonder where MC ends and they begin.

Give me retro, or give me nothing. Thats how this gamer rolls.

I agree with you on how the storylines suck. Like Prototype, I couldn't bare to watch ten seconds of that storyline. The gameplay was amazing though.

Yeah, it's the storyline (or lack of a good one) that really gets me on all the new games. I have Prototype, but does anyone really care why Alex wants to kill everyone? Not me, at least.

I just forget about the story and focus on gameplay after one time through. Secrets are the only thing that keep some games going for me. Glitches are fun and exploiting the games mechanics to do fun stuff can extend playability for me just bit longer.

Hack and slash games are still fun nonetheless. Though they can die out quite easily if they don't have some fun things to do.

New game plus is only for running through quickly and playing with some new toys you normally get. Otherwise it's a pointless (and worthless) new game plus. Unless of course you're talking about Radiata Stories.
