*kicks stupid mouse*

My stupid piece of crap optical mouse died! Grr... Now I have to use the trackpad on my laptop, and I hate that stupid thing. I always hit it while I'm typing and bad things happen.

And I won't be getting a new one until Monday at the earliest because the nearest electronics store is across town, and , it being the weekend, it's closed for the day anyway. And we're supposed to get more snow tonight, so no way am I going to attempt to drive anywhere tomorrow, because the roads are going to be a disaster.

you sure you don't need to just replace the batteries? I've mistaken a dead mouse for just needing batteries before.

It's a wired mouse. And it's the that chip died... the mouse itself still gets power and lights up and whatnot, but it's not being recognized by my computer anymore. I got an error message saying the device had been disconnected when it hadn't been, and then nothing. And I know it's not the port, because my webcam works just fine when I hook it up there.

You know, most trackpad software comes with an option to turn off the "tapping" feature. That way, you only click when you hit the actual buttons.

If I do that, though, dragging/highlighting becomes a two-hand operation. XD I swear, Toshiba trackpads are the most awkward things on the planet.

Wow.. Either doing those things with just two fingers just easily comes to me, or your trackpad controls are really ****ed. All I have to do is hold down the button with my thumb and use my pointer finger to highlight/drag.

Toshiba trackpads are retardedly designed... that's all there is too it. The pad itself if tiny, and doesn't always respond perfectly, and the buttons are in kind of a strange position relative to the pad. And on my laptop, it's slightly off center, too... it's more to the left than to the right, which is a real pain since I'm right handed. It's just not very ergonomic, and is very uncomfortable to use.
