New feature film - inspired by FF

Hi FF fans,

I'm currently creating a feature film - large parts of which are inspired by the Final Fantasy series - especially ff8, 9 and 10.

At the moment we're trying to raise the money. The aim is to raise enough money so we can give the film away for nothing. To help in that I've shot a special 'pitch trailer'. Check it out - and spot the FF references.

In my honest opinion, anyone who's a movie maker and is not related to Squaresoft should stay VERY far away from trying to make movies with a Final Fantasy theme.

ESPECIALLY romantic ones.

Not that I don't appreciate what you're trying to do, making a free movie etc, but think about it. Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within failed the fanbase completely. Ever since I have been rather suspicious of anything film+FF related. (thank god FFVII AC worked out ok)

Now, after watching that trailer you made. References? sure... FFVIII: the beach, the hug etc, FFX: the music, the voice on the background, FFIX (no goddamn clue, didn't like that one too much anyway, but didn't really see a reference)

And you know what those references made me feel? Uneasy. Blending FFs together in a romantic theme is... Well... Weird... Uncomfortable... It made me feel slighly nauxious.

Don't try to combine too many things, it didn't work out for FF: TSW and it won't work out for you. FF fans are not too forgiving when it concerns their favorite game series outside the console.

But hey, keep it up I guess, free movies are win, and the trailer was ok qua montage, acting and camera work.

Still, I've got a bad feeling about this...
