Sara was just puzzled even more. Making her head hurt. She was still edgy about the whole reincarnated thing. Draconis seemed like she had met him before but that was it... She didn't even recall seeing this Zewd character before. Perhaps it was the amulet's doing that made her feel safe with Draconis? she didn't know... but she certainly didn't want to stay alone in this room. She didn't want anything else to happen like last night.
Creeping out the door. Sara tip toed to where Zewd had said Draconis's room was and peered in. Not knowing if he was awake or not. Slipping inside and slowly moving towards the bed. Sara looked at his wounded arm and saw that it had gotten a bit better.... but he did look pale... the amulet lightly glowing on his chest. Sara sat down next to the bed and tried to place her hands on his left arm... she kept hesitating... It frustrated her. But even though she had only known Draconis for less than a day... she felt that she owed him her life. Finally after some time, Sara placed both her hands onto Draconis's left arm and rested her head on his chest. Drifting off to the rhythm of his breathing. |

Zewd watched Sara as she went down the hall to see Draconis. She didn't blame her. Draconis probably ended up laying things down anyway, Zewd knew that whenever he had a brainstorm, he got out as much of it as he could, or in this case, a lapse in his memory. She also knew that in this body, Sara was young, and at the moment very frightened, so she wasn't going to press the matter. Who knew, she might even regain her memory on her own in time. For now there was other things that she needed to attend to, and she walked away, never mentioning the fact that she had in her posession, Alisa's old amulet.
* * * Draconis regained consciousness in a bed inside of Zewd's cabin. He was exhausted, and even though he was awake, he didn't open his eyes or move. His limbs felt heavy, his mind was a mess, and he had just found out that his ex lover had indeed come back. He tried to convince himself that he couldn't press the matter, he would never do anything to make Alisa feel uncomfortable, and he'd do the same for her now. What he really wanted to know is what grudge Alisa's husband had against him, and what possessed him to kill Alisa in the first place? He finally opened his eyes, someone was leaning on his chest. To his suprise, it was Sara. How on earth did I forget about her in the first place? He thought to himself. Sara seemed relaxed, so he didn't want to disturb her too much. He took off his amulet, and put it gently back around her neck. He didn't need it right now, and the amulet seemed to give off a warm vibe when it was around Sara. The entire world I knew has been torn down. He pondered. Now what?

Sara stirred and saw that Draconis had placed the amulet over her head. She moved back up into a sitting position and stayed that way, looking down at him. Sara wondered if he was awake and what her dream, that she had while in his arms, was about.
She didn't want to wake him but if he was, she would try to ask. Placing her hand on his once more, Sara whispered softly. "Are you awake?" as she got a bit closer. Looking right at his face with her deep yet crystal clear green eyes. "I wanted to ask you something... I had a dream while you carried me here. It was of a young woman with long light brown hair walking out in the night towards a small city from a forest glade. A young man was behind her and seemed wanting to follow but somehow couldn't. He watched her go and that's when it ended... I hope you heard that... I don't... think I could talk this openly again for a while... Not after all the tings that have happened... I still can't believe that you're a true blooded vampire and I'm some reincarnated chick from four generations ago..." Sara stopped there. She didn't want to go on, even though she couldn't remember anything or ever relate to the name Alisa... She turned away and looked out the window through the dark drapes, looking towards home... |

"That was the night we separated." Draconis said quietly at first. He sat up a little in his bed to make it easier for him to speak. The dream was a memory of sorts, and Sara deserved to know what really happened. "That night, me and Alisa met in the wood just outside of your town. She told me that she didn't want to see me again in that lifetime. It would be too hard for her to live a human life if she had a vampire come in and out. Besides, she said something about her soon to be husband was one of the jealous types. I kept insisting that I be able to see her every once in a while, but when I saw tears stream down her face, I knew she was trying to keep everything together, to better us both." The memory was one of the painful ones that he remembered. He tried not to show too much emotion, Sara still didn't remember anything, and seeing him break down would just be more pressure.
"Its odd though." He continued. "You said that it was a dream? I imagined that wearing my amulet would induce something like that, but it came on its own." Draconis also felt that he owed Sara an apology. "I'm really sorry for taking you away from your home like that. Those things that attacked, those are the Cursed Dead. They're murderers and rapists, and the most vile criminals you can possibly think up, braught back to serve the one who summons them. Its an incredibly dark ritual to perform, however, and takes not only evil intentions, but an evil heart as well." Gee, I wonder who I've heard of who fits that description? Draconis thought to himself sarcastically.

Sara had looked straight at Draconis and seemed to understand what he was saying.. but when she started shedding tears.. she was taken aback. She wasn't sad or happy... so why was she crying?
Wiping the tears away, Sara stopped looking in Draconis's direction to get her emotions straight and then made a weak smile. She didn't know but she guessed to ask something else... something a bit darker... "If those things were the cursed dead, or zombies... what else could be after us? Or should I even ask that?" Sara looked at him with a bit of fear sunk into her eyes. it clouded them and they became almost a different green then. Just like the portrait's... |

"Other than the Cursed Dead? Nothing I think, but what could be-" Before he finished a thought entered his head: Werewolves. "Crap. I forgot, werewolves aren't a myth either." Draconis looked Sara in the eye when he said this, and he noticed the soft green hue in her eyes that was so like Alisa's human eye color. Different. He thought. "Most werewolves were mercinaries back in my time, and I don't suspect that has changed in a few hundred years. They're expert trackers, both in beast form, and in human form." He sighed heavily, partly from exhaustion, and partly from what he was about to say. "I hate to say it, but we can't stay in one place for too long. And I did promise to protect you, but in order to protect you, we're going to have to move. I don't know how to say this, so I'll just say it, your house is no longer safe. Your parents are safe though, no werewolf or dead man is going to give a damn about your parents, they just want at you, and me, dead more than likely." The matter of fact tone he was using probably wasn't helping. For the first time since they arrived, Draconis got up, and he went over to Sara, nelt down on one knee and reached out and held her left hand. He looked deep into her eyes, and this time spoke with a more comforting tone. "Your soul as my witness, so long as you stay with me, I will sooner face the devil himself them let anyone, or anything, harm you."

Sara felt the redness seep deep into her cheeks as she began to blush. She'd never before been treated or promised a thing like this before. The fact that remained was that if she really was the reincarnated self of Alisa... shouldn't she learn more about her old self?
This was one question that would be very hard to ask, but Sara would leave it for another time. They needed to move. Or at least Draconis seemed to think so. She wouldn't disagree with him.. but she'd think that if they kept the movement to just walking... it's be hard on both of them. Even though Sara was a natural athlete... she knew she wouldn't be able to keep up with Draconis if something arose and she wasn't about to let him do the same thing like last night either.. for if they were ambushed... How would Draconis be able to fend off the attackers if he was exhausted? The best solution would be her motorcycle... but, she knew that Draconis wouldn't take that option... She didn't have a license to drive a European car either. She was barely able to drive her motorcycle when driving in the correct lane. She was too used to driving in the States. Sara looked back at him and tried to say something before hearing the door begin to creak.. she instantly turned away and walked towards the window. Looking out of the drapes and hiding her face behind it. As her face had indeed become a shade redder. |

Mara walked into the room. "Draconis? Oh, good to see you're up." She said with an honest show of gladness. "Zewd would like to see you for a moment."
Draconis sighed again and walked out into the main room, looking back only to see Sara continue to look out the window. Zewd was waiting in the main room. "What can I do for you Zewd?" Zewd put an amulet into Draconis' hand. He examined it, and realized that it was Alisa's, but it had been fixed. "Did you fix it?" "No. It gave off a bright white light about seventeen years back and it was fixed when the light faded." "So the gem broke when Alisa passed, but mended itself when she was born again?" "That's what I presume. You may want to see about some adjustments to the spells on it though, they serve you no purpose as they currently stand, and the reincarnation spell was a one shot deal. I should know, I cast it." Draconis remembered back to the day when he and Alisa braught the amulet to Zewd for her to adjust the spellcraft of the amulet. He was still in her debt for doing it. "So what now?" Draconis said puzzled. "Whatever it is, you're going to need your amulet back. You're going to have to travel durring the day and rest at night. Those hunting you don't know the nature of your amulet, and they figure they're hunting just another vampire lord. You also might want to conscider alternate forms of transportation." Zewd looked into Draconis' eyes and knew what his next question was. "I can re-enchant Alisa's amulet if she wants, but that's Sara's descision, its her's afterall." Draconis took Alisa's amulet and headed back to the room. He opened the door slowly, thinking about what order he'd address the issues he needed to discuss with Sara. "So," Draconis started. "You said you had a 'motorbike' of some kind?"

Sara looked up and was a bit puzzled.. "Yeah, I do. But it's back at my place."
Sara said as she stepped closer. Something was pulling her towards him. His amulet emitting a different glow.. something of a warm and supportive feel... and what intrigued Sara even more, was the fact that something in Draconis's hand was emitting the same glow. "Umm... what do you got there?" Sara asked as she was now within arms length of Draconis. |

"This?" Draconis said, showing Sara the amulet in his hand. "Its yours, you probably don't remember it, but it is yours." He stepped around her and undid his amulet from her neck, he then gently slipped Sara's amulet around her neck, and the gem gave off a soft warm hue, as if the amulet had just been reunited with its long lost owner. He then put his own amulet back on and stepped back in front of Sara, and looked at her. "It suits you." He said smiling. He couldn't help but stare into Sara's soft green eyes. They had the same warm look in them that they had so many years ago. "Zewd can change the spellcrafting in it to suit you more, you should go see her." Draconis said, holding back the urge to kiss Sara, he still wasn't sure she was completely comfortable with him yet. "Anyway, in the meantime, Mara had some more modern clothes set out for me, I stick out too much in these old rags." Draconis opened his arms showing the now tattered shirt and worn pants he was wearing. He held Sara's hands in his before he let go, almost regrettably, and went into another room where his new clothes were laying.

Sara looked at the amulet and felt like she had been missing it for a long time. She was reluctant to see Draconis to go but was polite enough not to follow. it would also have been quite awkward.
Sara left her room and went looking for Zwed, she didn't know what she really wanted... but to make it easier for Draconis to protect her.. she's give anything. The last thing she wanted was to be a burden to anyone... and she was starting to feel that way. Going down the corridor and coming to a door, Sara knocked and heard someone beckon her in. Sara complied and went into the room and waited just within the door way, closing the door slightly. "Draconis told me to come see you about my pendant?" was all Sara could get out before looking up. "Come in, come in. I don't bite." Zewd assured ushuring Sara in further, it was a bad pun conscidering she was a vampire. She stood up and walked over toward Sara. "I'm sure as you probably know that one of the spells on that amulet of yours has already been expended, and the other one has no effect since you're human anyway. I know of a spell, however, that should work out quite nicely. Its a summoning spell actually. It uses the spirit that has itself manifested within the amulet and gives it physical form, thus producing a guardian. Each one is unique to the person who holds it. I will warn you though, it does require some of your blood. But once it has your blood, combined with that of your former self, it should create a powerful bond. Sound interresting?"

Sara blinked a few times and merely looked down at the amulet, it made a slight glow as if it was changing within, like a soft go - ahead - with - it kind of feel.
Sara took the amulet of and walked up to Zwed and placed the amulet into her hands while still having hers touch them as well. "Alright, what do I have to do..." Was all Sara could get out before the amulet gave off a deep crimson glow all on it's own. Sara could feel something inside her wanting to help bring another out... something primal... Sara shook her head and regained her thought to look at Zwed as she waited for instruction. |

Zewd took Sara’s wrist and slit it deep with a knife she had hidden at her side. She pressed the amulet down into the cut, and the amulet started to glow in different hues. After holding the stone to the wound for a few seconds, Zewd pulled it away and wrapped her hand around Sara's cut, grabbing firmly. A blue light came from the edges of her palm, and when she let go, there was no sign that Sara had ever been cut. "Its done." Zewd said with a slight nod, and handed the amulet back to Sara.
* * * "How do guys walk in these things!?" Draconis exclaimed, trying on the jeans Mara laid out for him. "If I wanted something that hung off of my ass like these do, I'd take a towel and wrap it around and call it good!" He couldn'ttake it, and took a belt off of a near by shelf to hold his pants at a proper height. He ended up with a plain orange t shirt with a collared dark orange overshirt that he left unbuttoned. He wore a pair of plain sneakers and, of course, the pants that he loathed. He walked into the main room and sat down and waited for Sara, they were going to have to leave soon.

Sara was definitely not pleased to have her wrist slit... but Zewd moved too fast for her to react... by the time Sara knew what was going on. It was over... but something felt strange to her... she felt like she could feel a heart pulsating outside of her body... The amulet itself changed it's purplish hue to more of a pinkish one.
Sara stumbled a bit but got her bearings... she wasn't that much affected, but she did want to get out and get some new clothes from home. She also wanted to see what Draconis was wearing. After getting the amulet and saying her dues... Sara left Zewd's room and headed to her's, to see if Draconis was there. Passing by the main room's entranceway, not seeing Draconis, Sara turned to go down the hall to her room. She never expected the bond between her amulet and Draconis's would be... especially with the fresh release of blood back into hers, replenishing the magics inside. Her amulet started to push back into her hand glowing towards the direction behind her. She stood there dumbstruck, wondering why it was acting up? |

Draconis sat in a couch in the main room, enjoying the fact that his pants were safely secured to his waist. His amulet started to pull towards the hallway very suddenly, as if a strong magnet was pulling it. Well, that's new.
Zewd walked in. "Its all done, there's just one more thing I want to do before you leave." "What's that?" Draconis said, still sitting. Zewd took off Draconis' amulet and just as quickly as he did to Sara's wrist, she slit his. Draconis let out a short "Yah!" in suprise, but it was soon over, the wound was gone and Zewd gave Draconis his amulet back. "Okay, what did that do?" Draconis said, he knew the drill, he'd done the spell before, but he wondered why Zewd needed more blood. "That, will give your skin a human like hue." She said, very matter of factly. "I still haven't been able to find a spell to reduce your fang size or your eye color without sacrificing your vamiric abilities, so just don't smile and wear these." Zewd threw a pair of sunglasses into his lap. "The two of you need to leave, soon." "I know," Draconis said, putting his hand up. "I want to thank you for everything Zewd, you've helped me out in a time of need once again." "If you two would leave soon, we'll call it even." "Why, what's wrong?" Draconis paused, donning the shades he had been thrown. "We've got a confirmation that there are werewolves on your trail."

Sara felt a new pull as her amulet changed to a more brilliant hue of pink. but the color didn't change, just the light aura around it brightened.
Sara jumped as she heard Draconis yell out in surprise as she ran to her room to grab what things she had had with her. but as she got further away from the main room, she felt colder? No clue why, but Sara thought that it had to do with what had happened. Sara shivered and wondered why? Moving back towards the main room and seeing that Mara came out of another room with her things, Sara took them and smiled. Bowing in appreciation and going on her way to the main room. She found Draconis and stood in the doorway, looking rather pale... |

Werewolves. That was going to complicate things. They couldn't just go back to Sara's place with werewolves on their tail, They'd either have to loose them, or kill them. Since werewolves are so good with trail tracking in the first place, they'd probably have to kill them. He put his amulet back on, and his skin darkened to a light tan. Mara braught out Draconis' sword and bowed politely before going back to her tasks. Draconis said his final good byes to Zewd and he opened the door to the cabin.
"Hello, chump!" A strange guy was at the door. He pointed a gun right at Draconis' chest and fired. Draconis knew who was right behind him in the hall, so he took the shots, all four of them. He then yanked out his sword and threw the blade right between the guy's eyes, he fell in a pile on the ground, in ash. "****ing werewolf!" Draconis shouted staggering backward. As soon as He got done cursing that werewolf, another ran straight into the room, fully transformed and dug his claws into Draconis' throat. "I'm getting sick of people trying to kill me!" He grabbed the werewolf by the throat and snapped his neck. That never stopped a werewolf though, and Draconis threw his blade into the werewolf's chest, reducing him to an equal pile of dust to his partner. "Well the werewolves are dead." Draconis said, falling back to the floor, bleeding. "Now if someone will tell me why they're here already, I'll patch myself up, and we can get on our way."

Sara went far paler than she already was... The attack had left her speechless... Draconis had in fact been hurt... but it was like nothing. Sara also saw the werewolves turn to dust.... She had always thought that they were killed by silver and changed back into a human and died... 'Heh, can't always believe movies...' Sara thought when she felt like the danger had indeed passed for now and went straight towards Draconis...
Almost coming to Draconis's side, Sara was in the way when the others had already gotten what they needed to help him. She was in the way and backed off. 'A mere human can't help a vampire... except to be their dinner...' Sara thought as she watched the two work on Draconis's chest. walking away from the sight and finding a small study to sit and wait in. She had mixed feelings and didn't know if home was a good place to go. Sara placed her amulet around her neck and felt a wave of energy flow through her.. it was like the energies from the amulet was connecting to Sara's life force. The paleness went away and Sara just sat there. seemingly looking out the small window, seeing a strange shadow moving about... the amulet started to make a chiming sound as it pulled closer towards the window. The shadow coming closer to where the sound resonated. Sara was curious and went to the window where she soon jumped back from. A pure White wolf had perched it's front paws on the windowsill and panted in the direction of Sara, keeping it's eyes locked with hers. It's eyes were lighter than the sky and somehow. Sara could see now malice in those eyes that looked upon her. What happened next would make Sara nearly jump out of her skin. the wolf not only jumped towards the window... it went right through it! A wisp of white mist flowed through the room and converged to be right in front of where Sara had now fallen to the floor. Becoming the white wolf once more. Sara's amulet soundly making the same chiming sound as this all happened. Sara gulped and tried to get up, but that's when the wolf misstepped forward and made Sara fall back. It then sat and made a slight whine while placing it's right front paw to it's face trying to hide it. Sara giggled a bit and the mist wolf began panting again. Walking slowly towards her. This time however, Sara tried to reach out and the mist wolf nudged it's head into Sara's outstretched hand. Sara started to pet it and could hear the wolf pant louder. It didn't bark however. It only sat there as Sara started to give it a full bodied pet. She felt like something out of the ordinary was going on but also felt safe.. She didn't notice the wolf place it's paw onto the amulet and the amulet itself glowing until the wolf disappeared into it. A quick breeze filled the room and a few books fell from their places. All Sara could do was look at the amulet with a set of mysterious blue eyes... just as blue as the wolfs. The white wolf that had just been in there was now gone just as mysteriously as it had arrived. The chiming stopped and Sara felt like she knew more werewolves were coming.. more like four were in the area... one being in each of the four main directions... They were a bit far off.. but the two that had come in were only the scouts... Sara didn't know how or why she knew, but she figured out that it had to be the wolf that she had just been in contact with... She didn't hear the talking of the three in the next room or hear someone come close. |

"Why don't I just open a hospital right here?" Zewd's words were laced heavily with sarcasm. She placed her hand on Draconis' chest, and with the same blue resonating glow from her palm, pulled a bullet from his chest while closing it completely. She took a second and looked at the bullet intently. "Wooden cores."
"So that's what your amulet does." Draconis said, his words coming through the pain. "Its a healing amulet." "No." Zewd's face was suddenly very stern. "The healing is all me. And if you know what's good for you you'll not be asking anything more about my amulet, or you'll find yourself in a pile of ash." Draconis didn't say another word. Fifteen minutes went by before Draconis was healed. Durring the time, his amulet started pulling in the direction of the study. It ceased after a moment, but what was lacking was the feeling that something really bad had just happened. He cracked his neck, and went to the study where Sara was sitting rather quietly. "You know what," Draconis stated dully. "I'm not going to ask what happened. But we need to get out of here, like now." Draconis walked back into the main room, put on a new t shirt, and gathered his stuff. He then waited at the door for Sara. If any more of those things are out there, they better keep a safe distance, now I'm pissed. Draconis thought to himself, a stone cold gaze fixed on his face before he put his sunglasses back on.
