FFX, I'm assuming that includes FFX-2, and not all of them have some sort of religious tone, if you go into FFX-2 there are only two songs with a some what religious tone, Bevelle, and the Bevelle Underground/Aeons

mine was FFIX. the instrumentals were class and I liked the Dark Messenger, Kuja's theme.

If we were casting votes for seconds I'd say either FF7 or FF9. Both soundtracks are lovely with the former having my favorite One Winged Angel and the later having Burmecia with that beautifully orchastrated sound.

Well, I'm not sure which one is my all-time favorite. I like certain songs form all the Final Fantasies I've played, even X-2. But I like more songs from VII, so I'm saying that.

I've started getting more and more interested in the FFVIII soundtrack lately. There are a few tracks that are annoying as **** (Lunatic Pandora and Esthar) but the rest of it I'm liking more and more every time I listen to it.

I've grown quite attached to the FFIX sound track. Much of teh music fits so perfectly with the current city/situation. For instance, Burmecia. It sets the stage for a dark mood, and the music went along with it perfectly, at least imo.

My favorite Final Fantasy soundtrack is the Final Fantasy X soundtrack. There are many tracks in it that I like, including "Zanarkand" and others like it.

Final Fantasy IX had the most emotional music. I'd say that it is my favorite, with FFVII as a second favorite.

Damn, I voted FF7 when I meant Advent Children.

The "SEPHIROTH!" soundtrack was just so awesome! I even have it on my MP3 player, it's just so bad ass. The games are a bit too ochestral for my tastes. Which is good for the games, I wouldn't change that at all. But the Movie was on the poll, so I would of voted for that.

but hey FF7 has good music, afterall it does have the Original Sephiroth Soundtrack, plus let's not forget Cosmo Canyon! OOOH YES!

What else do I wanna comment on...? oh yeah, the Trance Kuja fight on FFIX, I really couldn't stop rocking out to that one.

I must say FFVIII probably had the dullest music ever! except for the whole "Eyes on Me" bit... But I stand by my "dull" comment.

I liked all of the soundtracks except for XII. I voted Tactics because I've grown bored of how in every FF the music is like the main feature, but in Tactics, I would describe the music as being more of geod backround music with a few really good tunes.
The overall best song, on the other hand, would be the Rufus welcoming theme (I've been humming it all day).

IX or XIII

FFIX was one of the first scores in the series to actually be a proper score; with different music for most scenes in the games, and a general underlining musical theme. Nobuo himself is especially fond of it.

XII because it did away with the tacky ditties and bleeps, and employed a complete orchestra and proper music through the entire game.

Without a doubt six takes the cake for me. There's such a lovely variety of tune and the Final Boss track is one of my favorite ever. I'm especially fond of Ultima Weapon's track.
