Favorite Theme Song (for a character) - Page 2

When I opened this thread I was gonna say Terra's theme from FFVI, but reading the responses has led me to reconsider. Kefka's theme is even better. Especially the version from the final battle ("Dancing Mad," "Ominous Star Mad Dance," "Wild Dance of the Ominous Star," or however you want to translate it). That, to me, is the epitome of what I want video game music to be.

Finding a copy of it on SNES is, sadly, extremely difficult, and they usually go for absurd counts of money. You're probably better off playing the GBA version of it, tbh, even if they did muck up some classic lines and censor certain scenes somewhat.

I liked Eiko's Theme, personally. It was just too cute. But I did love Zidane's theme too. It's a shame they only played it one time during the entire game. Melodies of Life was always nice to listen to as well.

For the other games.... I loved Yuna and Rikku's themes in Final Fantasy X, the chocobo themes are always great, Celes and Terra's are amazing, Rinoa's theme was very sweet... gah, Final Fantasy just has great music in general. I can't pick a favorite.

Jenova's Theme (The uh... I dunno, we technically have a REAL Jenova here!) ~ J-E-N-O-V-A
Sephiroth's theme ~ One Winged Angel (all versions)
Sir Seifer's Knight theme ~ Rivals
The Sorceresses from VIII Themes ~ Succession of Witches, A Sacrifice, Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec....
Vivi's Theme
Almost all of the character themes from Final Fantasy X

There is a theme that pops up constantly in FF VIII that I love. I know you hear it when you go into Esthar in disc three, and I think it pops up in Balamb garden periodically too. I think its whenever Cid calls you to his office for a formal talk.
And then there's Liberi Fatali. talk about a theme!

If chocobo themes count then mods de chocobo from FFVIII, but also Jecht, Rikku and Yuna, with Yuna being my favourite of those. I can play Yunas theme on clarinet =).

Mine would have to be Sephiroth's One Winged Angel theme. It just makes the battle sooo awesome! Other then that, I like Steiner's, Kefka's and Aeris's theme.

Mine would be Terra's theme, the orchestra version (And Piano version). It's beautiful and well made.
Then Kefka's (All versions!) and the prelude to FFVI.
It the best ever!
You can actually find the Terra song here...But I own the C.D, very cool, huh?

Lessee...I like the themes in general. Uematsu does a really good job on that aspect of the soundtracks...

I can't think of any I don't really like, except maybe Jecht's Theme, Barrett's Theme, Quina's Theme, and possibly Zidane's Theme. Everything else I find suitable to the character and decent music to boot.

If I had to pick one favorite (although I am very bad at choosing when there are so many good choices...), I would sayyyyyyyy...

Terra's Theme. This song has a more personal connection for me than most people. Long before I had even heard of Final Fantasy, my piano teacher proposed that I play a piece that one of her other students had tried and failed (I wasn't at a very high proficiency back then and still am't but I had potential...). The title was in japanese characters and the picture was faded, and the only identifying english word in the entire piece was "Tina." I learned to play it and kept the sheet music, playing it whenever people asked me to play something when in the vicinity of a piano. Every time, guaranteed, at least one person would come up to me and say that they knew where the piece was from: an anime show, a movie, a soap opera. Obviously, they were all wrong. It wasn't until I got into high school that I found out that it was a theme from this so-called "Final Fantasy" series, and I rented FF X-2 (a very poor choice, retrospectively, but the battle system got me hooked--not the story, which X took care of), which had just come out to see whether I liked it. Then I got X, and VII, and VIII, and V and VI, and...well, you get the idea. And so Terra's theme is the reason I am on these boards replying to this thread in the first place...lol.

Squall doesn't officially have a theme, but Maybe I'm a Lion would be it, and that's my fav (besides the opening to IX).
