Default What are your favourite Piano Collection tracks?

I've got all the piano collections, I think, and I'd have to say they are some of the greatest things I've ever listened to. My number one favorite would have to be Eternity (Memory of Lightwaves) from FFX-2 Piano Collections. It puts be at ease all the time and is the best arrangement I've ever heard. Also, I recently listened to The Prelude from FFIV Piano Collections and it is totally soothing.

What are your favorites? And what is you favorite Piano Collections track or even number? I would have to say the first two, and the last three tracks on FFX-2 Piano Collections would have to be the best, making FFX-2 Piano Collections my favorite, even though a lot of the music to the game's soundtrack was sucky.

I personally like X-2's Piano Collections, as well as X's Piano Collections.

I was disappointed that there wasn't a version of J-E-N-O-V-A on the VII Piano Collections or currently an Official version of XII's Piano Collections (which is said to be in the works, but currently there is only a fan-made one).

However my personal favorite is Final Fantasy VIII's Piano Collections with The Castle track as my favorite although I tend to like all of the Piano Collections.

But there is a JENOVA piece in the VII collections. I know because I tried to play it. It is probably the most difficult of the FF VII pieces, actually.

I simply cannot respect the X-2 piano collections: with the exception of maybe waves and light and the piece that powers up Vegnagun, I found the soundtrack relatively uninspiring compared to Uematsu's godliness.

I tend to like a lot of the tracks, I don't want to list them all.

The ones I've learned to play are much shorter (and tend to be the ones I like)

TERRA'S THEME (See character themes thread), Tifa's Theme, Cinco de Chocobo, Rufus' Welcoming Ceremony, Vama Alla Flamenco, Waltz de Chocobo

I've been meaning to learn but never get around to learning: Kefka's Theme, To Zanarkand, Descendant of the Shinobi, Find Your Way, The Castle, Golden Saucer, Final Battle (VI), Via Purifico, Suteki Da Ne, Eyes on Me

Pieces that will take me forever to learn and which I will probably never master: JENOVA, Final Battle (X)

The hardest piece to play is Sephiroth's theme song on piano.

Wow, I completely forgot about that one. And I totally agree that it is indeed exceedingly difficult. Too much dissonance, fast chromatics, and contrapuntal syncopation to be realistically playable. Most pieces you can at least sort of sight read first and then just perfect the more technically demanding spots. OWA must be memorized very very slowly over a very long period of time and excessive practicing. I won't even bother attempting it until I can get my chromatic scales back up to speed. :P

That would be efficient, actually, if for the harder pieces you used four hands instead of two.

Yes, that's what I meant. Two people = four hands.

I'm a beginner at piano, and I can only manage to get the basic tunes from a lot of peices. Though I have managed to play the intro to Zanarkand off by heart and of course I can get the Prelude down easy. Though I think my brother and I need to sit there and flesh one out, cause I can't get my hands to do different things at the same time.

I love Silence and Motion from FF8!

But when is FF12 Piano Collections coming!?!? I know it's not the best soundtrack, but I need more piano goodness.

I wouldn't mind also seeing sort of hybrid Dirge and Crisis Core piano collections album with a fiew songs from each.
