hard question. FFVII had its peaks. and with FFXIII karakters based on FFVII. music in the same way as the FFVII way (intigrating deepening emotions in the movies) it realy hard to say.
at the moment it would be 7. but 13 gets much of its feeling from 7 (specialy versus who is a combination (sayd "ulitmimate combination" between Seph and cloud a la kingdom hearts) (13 "lighning" was asked to make like "Cloud's feminine side" ![]() so Now its 7 , in the future Probably 13 :d |

the new composer of the FINAL FANTASY series isnt good..he sucks..(..listen to FFXII soundtrack and you'll kno..)..but since the production of VERSUS XIII is going to be SQUARE and those guys who made KINGDOM HEARTS..its definitely going to come pretty strong and for we kno it..FFVII is nowhere near its league

![]() I am glad that Yoko Shimomura is in on Versus XIII, though. She's done an excellent job with all the Kingdom Hearts games. |

Well Hitoshi tried and he cant compare to nobou though songs like symphonic poem of hope and the main theme are excellent in ff12. FF13 is going to be awesome and i think this one has the potential to be better than ff7. the reason being that they finally decide with this one instead of going completely new lest take ff7 and build on it so much so thay Lightinig is based on Cloud. That too and the entire ff7 cast has come together to do ff13 even if nobou isnt doing the soundtrack he's doing the main theme and hopefully a few other tracks. And the advent children teamis doing the CG so with all that power and the white engine (and by extenson cell processor) it seriously without a doubt has the potential.
The only think to mess this up besides if the stroy isnt great is if FF7 is remade for the PS3

Um, dunno what you peoples didn't like about the ff12 score... I thought it was suitably epic when need be while refrencing both the standard Final Fantasy themes as well as some choice selections out of Tactics as well. Ozmone plains for instance absolutely smacked of Tactics, and while the overture theme wasn't the very best ever (Because there's a live orchestral version at the end of 8 and, you're not gonna beat that with a synthesized score no matter how good it is) it certainly held up.
Haven't heard 13 yet, but I wasn't overly thrilled with 10. It didn't have many hum-able tunes (cept for all the ones that used the Zanarkand motif, and even some of those were, meh, like Besaid), and the boss battle music was forgetable. The only one that really sticks in my head for some reason is the normal Seymor Battles. Dunno why really, it's just a trancy thing, but it's got one really cool bit in it where it breaks down into a half-time groove and I'm like... Yeah... Dig. 7 was awsome, and totally deserves to be rescored for orchestra and included with full live recordings for the remake.

FFVII's soundtrack will never leave my head...i can listen to the WUTAI theme or COSMO CANYON theme and just enjoy it for what its worth..FFVIII is my favorite game of the series but they dont have any memorable theme besides that briefing theme..(..i think..)..and the final battle..and i hope for the composers working on VERSUS XIII to use more violins..or those big ones..(..whatever their called..)..the game looks gothic..it deserves a gothic score

I'm surprised many people don't like this score because it is a lot more traditionally composed than anything Uematsu ever came up with. It feels like the background score to a grand and majestic opera rather than a collection of instrumental pop songs, there's a real pulse and vitality to some of the pieces which invokes (but never flat out Plagiarises like the older scores) the work of Handel, Wagner, Vivaldi and at times even Bach. It's a truly mature and utterly beautifully rendered score, the backlash is just stupifying.
Sure Hitoshi is different from Uematsu but it is unfair to compare them. Sure FFXII doesn't have the best score in the series but it is one of the most memorable scores as of late. Also keep in mind that battles are no longer random. Therefore, a lot of the tracks that would otherwise be peaceful, pretty tracks have to be transformed into something that can also play during a fight. Still Final Fantasy VIII had is my favorite soundtrack overall. Along with with Final Fantasy IX and Final Fantasy XII tied for second and Final Fantasy VI for third. But my only complaint for the FF XII soundtrack is Uematsu piece, "Kiss Me Good-bye". Uematsu is a great composer don't get me wrong but the ending theme doesn't match the games political motif. There wasn't enough of the relationship shown between Ashe and Rasler to envole any emotions like "Eyes on Me" or "Melodies of Life". The FF XII soundtrack is good but not great nor horrible. It is a unique and pleasant change to the series. |

Uh... Well, been a long time since I checked this site out. Was very disappointed when the forum closed down on September... I was one of the not very active member last time... Glad this forum is back.
Btw, I prefer FF VII more. Partly because I haven't played FFXIII, but I am looking forward to play it. Maybe after I play, my opinion will change. It hasn't been released yet, has it? I only have somnus numeri (FF versus XIII trailer song) and still can't judge that fairly. |
