Ok so I was browsing through the forums and noticed we didn't have a "How to make a signature/what to use" thread. Now i've been wanting to make one for awhile well at least learn how to. Can anyone send me in the direction as to what I could use to make one? and how.

I use Photoshop CS2

As for how I make them I just find some images I want to use and just have fun. I try to do something different everytime I make a sig, but sometimes it doesn't work like that.

If you're not into illegal downloading and all that, and you don't want to shell out the money for Photoshop, I recommend The GIMP. You can download it on Download.com, and also you'll need the GTK runtime environment for it. Anyway, it's free and does most if not all of the stuff Photoshop does.

And then theres always paint!

Anyways very simple low down:

First of all you need a canvas! Just whatever space you wanna work with:



Lots of peoeple like to use 400 x 100 pixels, but it doesn't really matter.

Next make a pretty background using various tools like the paint bucket, brushes, pen tool etc


(ver quick example, I just use the pen tool and made some shapes)

Then you get yourself a render, from somewhere like planetrenders.net which just means a picture of something.

Copy and paste it on you bg, add some text with a text box (like fancy text on word) and a border (select it all, right click and select stroke)

and tada! you have a signature! (although a very simple one)



Thats it really, then you just mess around with all the various settings as you get used to the software you're using.
