Mrs. Boyan:
It has come to my attention that you wish to give your Honors English class a much stricter deadline than you will be giving to your other classes. This is simply grossly unfair. It would seem to suggest a separation of the student body into some sort of intelligence based classes like in an archaic caste system. This is an unethical practice of the highest order, Mrs. Boyan.
Placing higher demands on one group of students is no better than discrimination by gender, by religion, or by race. Just because you have placed the distinction of higher intelligence upon this Honors class does not mean we need any less time to write an evaluative research paper of true quality. Giving us less time only further stresses your already overworked students. It is these cruelties that lead to a question of sound leadership. Our dear school is not your personal Nazi Germany where you can lead us like Jews to the slaughter. No, Mrs. Boyan, nor is it like Communist Russia where we, the common masses, can starve while you, the corrupt government officials, can grow rich, fat, and bloated.
No indeed, Mrs. Boyan, we live in a grand Democracy. Here, the People are treated fairly. Here, the People are treated equally. Here, the People have a say. And what we say Mrs. Boyan, is that you have no right to violate our right to the freedom of being treated equally and fair. To do this in the face of our continued suffering is no better than slapping us in the face.
Is it not written that all men are created equally, Mrs. Boyan? Then, too, should it not be written that all students are created equally? If this is indeed not so, then who are you to make these distinctions between us? These fallacious separations of intelligence only serve to hinder us further. A classroom divided will not stand, Mrs. Boyan. This McCarthyism will only sink our sailing ship of study.
If the ideals of our Great Nation do not serve to guide you away from these errors in judgment, we beseech you to look to reason. The classes you have designated as a lower level will only, in light of their insulting rank, spread slander and propaganda about having more time for this paper. The Honors class, being unjustly targeted, will surely and swiftly return with their own retribution for the wrongdoings done to them. We must stop this infighting at all costs, Mrs. Boyan.
Only you are in a position to deliver us into a peaceful equality. Set the example and lead us to a Golden Age in our learning. Cut this silly clowning around, Mrs. Boyan. Help us, and yourself. What, after all, is a mere week among fellow citizens?
Sincerely,
Your Concerned Classes
